Our Roots
The mission of NGVIF is to provide trauma informed care to veterans, the incarcerated, and their families. All training, services and materials will be provided at no cost to those receiving services.
ACTIVITIES
Our nonprofit, “Neurogenesis for Veterans, the Incarcerated, and their Families” strives to provide resources to restore brain health among the underserved and most vulnerable. We endeavor to aid in resolving combat and/or childhood traumatic stress to enable the least among us to recover and build resiliency. We believe new innovative and affordable technology coupled with life skills can enable these children to rebuild a proper balance between their rational and emotional brain areas. We utilize noninvasive neurofeedback technology coupled with Compassion Integrity Training life skills to enable recovery by the brain’s natural ability of neuroplasticity.
We often write off prison inmates as bad people. Sure, they often grew up in very difficult family situations, but they must not want to change. But what if we looked at them as damaged people instead? And what if neuroscience now has ways of undoing or repairing that damage? What if new understandings combined with cutting edge technology can help them become productive and safe in the world? That technology is here now. The financial cost is minuscule compared to the very high cost of prison. Lets get these people back into the world of family and jobs and life, and lets do it now.
